Peter Siddle

Veteran quick bowler Peter Siddle hasn't given up hopes of creating his T20I debut even at such a late stage in his career. The 34-year-old has sparked life into his T20 fortunes with considerable performances in last year's Big Bash League (11 wickets in eleven games at associate economy rate of five.94), and has even begun powerfully this year with four wickets in 2 fixtures - together with those of Jos Buttler, Shane Watson and Joe Root in state Adelaide Strikers' success over state Sydney Thunder on day.

"I'd love to get back in the yellow-and-green for Australia in the shorter format," Siddle said. "I think I did (always have T20 bowling skills) but I hadn't played enough to be able to bring them out. Last year, playing a full season gave me an opportunity to train and prepare for it," Siddle told

Whether or not he gets to don Australia's T20I jersey remains to be seen, however, the work-horse paceman is in line to feature in his fourth Ashes series - happening par with Shane Warne's tally - next July. Siddle discovered it absolutely was his time with the county this year that is helped him prolong his career, and is keen on obtaining a look, in England.

"If you go back to a couple of years ago, you'd probably think I'd run my course and might not get that opportunity again. A good winter in England (with Essex) this year got me back in the frame. I've been around the Test team for the whole summer - I'm thereabouts. England and its conditions is a place I love playing," Siddle said.

Callum Ferguson

An additional 34-year-old pining for another essence of global activity is Callum Ferguson. The best request batsman, who made his Test make a big appearance against South Africa in Hobart in 2016, did not highlight in whites once more. Ferguson is set on turning that around and has his sights set on the Ashes squad. Considering the present predicament that the present Australian side is in, especially in the batting division, Ferguson may be worth a shot.

The right-hander was the third on the rundown of driving run-getters in the 2017-18 period of the Sheffield Shield with 780 keeps running in 18 innings at a normal of 48.75 - the best among the main five players. He hasn't set the world land in the progressing period of the Shield so far, however, has a century to his name and still has a great deal of chance to indicate why he justifies a spot in the national side when the Shield season continues in February.

"That's why I'm still playing the game, I'm still trying to get to the very top," he said. "Wherever the runs come, I'll be trying to make as many as possible. Even if I don't get picked in the Ashes squad, I've signed on with Worcestershire this winter to play all three formats. You always hold out hope and that's the aim."
